These show Ava's wrist before surgery. The Dr's were able to completely remove the whole tumor with this surgery which is a huge relief to Frank and I. While in there they also repaired a tendon that become spilt by the tumor. Because Ava is so young we weren't aware of this, but probably would of found out if it had gone untreated.
My baby when we met her in the recovery room. She needed some extra oxygen and of course this made me a nervous wreck. All was OK though and she was extremely sleepy for a few hours.
Cuddled on her Daddies lap
She seriously would of slept all day, we had to tickle her feet to get her up!
Children are SO resilient, you would never know everything this girly went through the way she was acting. Shes waving that heavy cast around like its nothing! I have to watch her like a hawk to make sure she is taking it easy! Here she is playing with her new princess castle mommy and daddy surprised her with.
Today she had her drain removed and we go back in 2 weeks to hopefully get her cast off. Hopefully this is it for Miss Ava because Frankie and Gianna are up next. The doctors are going to do a study on us, I would love to know why all 3 of my children get these, it boggles my mind!

good to hear all went well. She looks like a trooper...hopefully she wont have any more surgeries. I would be a compelte wreck
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear! What a brave strong girl, and mommy/daddy!! :) I was just telling my husband about you this weekend and all 3 of your kids having them. He knows I had one removed as a baby and my fear of our daughter having one when I was pregnant. I now have 'pin sized' hemangiomas and along with stretch marks when pregnant, I developed even more of these hemangiomas. Thankfully it just takes laser treatment to remove them.
ReplyDeleteInterested to see what they discover when they study you and hope you update on that in the future.
So Glad they fixed Ava's tendon and got it all removed in one surgery! Good luck with the insurance, recovery, and future surgery's! I will continue to keep you in my thoughts!
She looks like she's doing SO well! Hoping you all stay strong!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how well they bounce back and I'm so happy to read she's on the mend!
ReplyDeleteSo so glad everything went okay. It's amazing how resilient kids are. Great news they were able to repair the tendon. Now will this be it or will she have to have more surgeries in the future?
