21 weeks

You have NO idea how happy it makes me to do these weekly posts now, I can not wait until I hit the 30's.  Ok here goes!

21 weeks
How big is baby:  Baby is the size of a cantaloupe

Total weight gain: Still up only 4 pounds.

Sleep: Worse then ever, my mind races at night, I really need to work on this.

Best moment of the week: Spending Easter with my family!

Food Cravings: EASTER candy, yummy, and popcorn.

Food Aversions: Still ground meat, ewww, yuck!

Symptom's:Same as last week: Dull back ache, fatigue, sore boobs, and lots of little baby kicks! ( no contractions this week, yay!)
Plus some side effects from my medication
Gender: GIRL!

What I'm looking forward too: Enjoying the last week of spring break with my kiddos.

What I miss: Sleep and not being full of stress!

Next Appointment: Thursday with my OB

So some updates, for some various reasons my OB had sent me to a high risk Dr. Well after some pretty lengthy Ultra sounds and 44 viles of blood later we learned that I have a Blood Clotting Syndrome and it's causing clots in my umbilical cord and placenta. The Dr feels this is why I had pre term labor and also feels why my first 2 children were born on the smaller size at 36 weeks. Baby girl is perfectly healthy but a little on the small size. To keep her growing nice and safe in their the Dr has started me on daily injections of the blood thinner Lovenox and a daily aspirin. I am also taking 1000mg of Calcium and 2000mg of Vitamin D. I'm like a 90 year old lady with all my drugs lately!!
The injections are daily and I have to give them to myself in my belly which sort of freaked me out at first, but I'm getting used to it now. Its not so much the needle that bothers me but the actual medicine going in stings really bad for about 15 to 20 minutes and they the site gets sore and I'm developing black and blues. I cant imagine what this big all belly will look like in a few weeks, but if it keeps my girl safe in their I will do anything!!! So there you have it, that's whats going on with me right now. Have any of you had to go on blood thinners during pregnancy? Id love to hear about your experience.
Bare belly 21 weeks, those spots there that look like freckles are actually bruises from the injections, fun times!

  4. How cute are you!?!? New blog follower and I, too have to say how cute your blog is! ;) I feel badly for you (injections, yikes!) and yet excited at the same time because it reminds me that this time last year I was about where you are in my pregnancy with Nolan... and he's nearly one now.
